Movie Review: Robin Hood

One day, Ridley Scott called up Russel Crowe...

SCOTT: Let's make a Robin Hood movie. But let's make it different from other Robin Hood Movies. Let's make it innocent and fun.
CROWE: Errol Flynn did that in 1938.
SCOTT: Then let's make an animated Robin Hood.
CROWE: Walt Disney did that in 1973.
SCOTT: Let's focus on an aging Robin Hood and Maid Marian, then. It'll be a love story.
CROWE: Sean Connery. 1976.
SCOTT: Let's make it a TV series, then. With a Saracen as one of the Merry Men.
CROWE: Robin of Sherwood. 1984 to 1986.
SCOTT: Action! Adventure! A bit of comedy!
CROWE: 1991. Kevin Costner.
SCOTT: Okay, let's make a really funny spoof!
CROWE: Cary Elwes. 1993.
SCOTT: Fuck.
CROWE: What about we take away everything that makes Robin Hood Robin Hood? Like stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Or living in Sherwood Forest. Mash up history a lot. Suck out every single thing fun about Robin Hood. No one's done that before. You'll be the first.
SCOTT: Winnar! LOL! Let's do it!
